Gandhi and the
Peace Laureates
Visit the world's Peace Dome

Tours tailored for
Schools, groups, Homeschoolers

Nestled in the countryside only minutes from Bennett Springs State Park in Missouri is the Peace Dome. Dedicated in October 2003 as a universal site for peace, the two story monolithic dome is 60 feet in diameter and 28 feet at its highest point.

School Day enables children 8 and up to tour the Peace Dome. The tour begins at 11:00 am with a multimedia presentation including the film "MAKINGPEACE: The Construction of the Peace Dome". This 20 minute film documents how the dome was constructed and is of educational interest for its architecture, and as a sociological study. Governmental proclamations from countries, states, and mayors add a historical and political science dimension, as does construction of the Healing Wall, a current effort to unite native stones from every country on the planet. Thus far over 5 dozen stones have been collected from Australia to Tibet to Brazil. Students and teachers from the College of Metaphysics are your guides and instructors.

Students will make a Peace Pole, learn a peace song, have an opportunity to become Peace Ambassadors for their family, and meet one of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates represented in "The INVITATION". They will sign the Peace Scroll and lay a tile in the Peace Mandala, an ongoing mosaic in the center of the first floor, before departing.

Program length: Approximately 2 1/2 hours. 11-1:30.
