Dream Date: 4/23/2011

A group of man was on a misson to do something that would make the mothership function again. This team was in the backyard of a complex. They had succeeded in doing their misson and contacted the mothership.

Members of the team were lining up waiting to be picked up, while I was trying to find the correct combination of lighting that would enable the mothership to see them easily. I did so by playing with lightswitches.

For a brief moment, communication was cut off from the mothership and they were inquiring, but soon it was restored. The mothership came and lifted them all but the leader; he chose to stay behind. He chose to stay because he felt he was responsible for what had happened.

The chain of command then relegated to a certain woman on the mothership. She put on the artifact or a certain device which the team had recovered early and the mothership was powered. The mothership lifted off and continued its journey.

A certain woman on the mothership contacted the man who had opted to stay on the planet. She told them that they were already moving to their new destination. Hearing it, he could not contain his feeling; he walked out of the room and cried behind the door. Somehow she could see him crying behind the door, because the door appeared to be transparent in the screen.

Interpretation

This dream is about how you cause progress and how you get stuck. Your dream shows two ways that you respond to mistakes. One way is you find a way to move forward again, which is the most responsible choice. The other way is you get stuck in guilt.

Your dream shows that you have found a way to cause progress again toward an important goal, after a time of feeling like you were stuck and powerless. Now you have the power to move forward. Now you have the opportunity again to use a certain organization to make rapid progress. The organization is represented by the mother ship. It could be a spiritual school, a religion, a job, or some other purposeful group of people. You know how you got stuck, and you know how you got yourself moving again. That is all very good! You have reasons to be glad and pleased with yourself!

Yet, there is one difficulty that holds you back. When you make mistakes that stop your progress, you tend to punish yourself by keeping your attention on your failures instead of moving forward toward your goals. When you stay stuck in the same place, with your attention on failure, you are sad. It’s like your hopes and dreams are passing you by, and you are left behind.

You don’t have to do that!  Guilt is not responsibility.

It’s important for you to learn to forgive yourself let go of guilt or regret about past mistakes. As you focus on how you are improving, it’s easier to forgive yourself for past mistakes. The purpose of life is to improve. You have an opportunity to improve now. Since you have taken the SOM correspondence course, you have Lesson 5A. We suggest you review that lesson and practice what it says about forgiveness and gratitude. Gratitude helps you appreciate the great things you have accomplished, like completing a spiritual course of study, and it helps you respond to your opportunities.
