Dream Theme: bathrooms
Dream Date: 4/28/2011
I was in an apartment with three women. When I walked into the hall one was guiding the two others in a theatrical exercise where they had to say the same thing over and over for three minutes. Can’t exactly remember the phrase.
I had to use the restroom and one, brown hair white shirt and pleated black pants, showed me to a toilet behind a curtain and said “Congratulations on your show.” (In real life I am an artist and apparently in my dream too) I pull the curtain back to reveal a tea cup toilet… very pretty but also full to the brim with water. The water starts to overflow and come out onto the concrete floor. I say “Look,” and we step back and the water surges into the apartment space, and I say, “Aren’t you glad that you don’t have carpet?” and the woman whose apartment this is who is naked draws a line in the concrete as if to create a barrier for the water. I say, “Are you trying to create a trench with your toe?” and she says, “I did create a trench.” I stay back on the periphery of the apartment as I am not sure that the water is clean. I see the two women pushing a lawnmower up a ramp in the apartment while the other one watches. All of a sudden the lawnmower lurches off the ramp and rams the naked watching women in the chest and her body envelops the lawnmower. She is very injured and I am shocked and run over to her and pull the lawnmower off and yell “OMG look what happened.” She is convulsing and writhing, and I hold her calling for help.

Your dreams show your state of mind in waking life, from the day before. This dream is largely about observing how you express yourself.
Your dream shows that your attention was on expressing yourself honestly and mindfully, and you were observing the ways that you practice this. For example, in waking life you might have been deliberately speaking your mind, writing your thoughts, or expressing your emotions through movement.
As you practice accurately expressing your honest thoughts and emotions and observe what comes out of you, you discover some thoughts and emotions that you’ve held onto that you need to release. These could be worries, distracting thoughts, old memories, or simply unexpressed emotion that’s been stored inside you. When you begin to express and let go of that stuff, you observe an overwhelming experience of release surging out of you. Now, if the teacup toilet is the SIZE of a teacup, this definitely shows you could use more effective ways to adequately release your thoughts and emotions so you can express them fully without being overwhelmed.
Your dream shows the need to express and release thoughts and emotions in another way, also. When you have something big and heavy and powerful inside of you that doesn’t belong inside of you (like a powerful emotion, or a lawn mower inside an apartment), you need to move it out where you can use it, right? There comes a point where you need to do more than observe yourself, where you need to actively HELP yourself push things out of your mind and into your outer experience. Your dream ends with that message.
What could you learn or practice that could help you? You can keep expressing yourself regularly so your thoughts and emotions steadily flow out in manageable amounts. You could do this through speaking, writing, art, and by simply acting on your thoughts in the moment. When you respond in the moment, there can be a release of thoughts that no longer serve you as new awareness comes forth through experiencing the completion of what you imagine.
One way to help yourself move your thoughts, emotions, and desires through your mind and into your life is to visualize with foresight so you can proactively direct your mind, rather than waiting and reacting when a crisis occurs. Goals can help you accomplish this. Daily goals give the mind positive direction and a tangible way to observe the completion of what you have visualized for yourself the previous day.
A way you can express yourself more masterfully and improve your creativity is to draw more upon your inner-subconscious mind. You can do this by interpreting your dreams on a regular basis, daily meditation, stilling your mind, and through improving your ability to think in whole images. We suggest a book on this, called The Law of Attraction and other Secrets of Visualization by Dr. Laurel Clark.
