Preceding this REAL TIME with a TEACHER, dreamschool members and scholars were asked to participate in the following practices which are intended to spiritualize consciousness as one moves toward becoming lucid in dreams. Establishing a spiritual base in your waking hours, encourages its benefits to be carried into your dreamstates. In much the same way as the more unconscious thought and activities of the day work themselves into our dreams.
The daytime practice consists of four parts:

  • Contemplate the body as illusory and unreal
  • Contemplate the mind and its mental activities as similarly insubstantial
  • Regarding the external world around you as dreamlike, insubstantial, impermanent, and unreal
  • Recognizing the ungraspable quality of experiences such as time, space, knowledge, and awareness

Reminding ourselves of these four truths throughout our waking hours helps to dissolve the barrier between the dream of life and the sleeping dream. Noted dream explorer Carl Jung said,

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens."

The heart of this REAL TIME is to discuss our awakenings. I look forward to hearing your dreams and your thoughts about them.

Welcome to the new site

It has been an interesting day for us.  We launched the updated 2010 Dreamschool just hours before REAL TIME with a TEACHER went live.  Our server was down - meaning the company that houses our website went offline for a while - which interfered with our loading permissions for some members to have access.  If one of these was you, we ask for your patience as we graduate into our new system.

We are pleased to enter into this new realm of global research and development for we know it will serve each individual well.  You will find a growing number of articles, interpreted dreams, and eventually interactive media that will teach every member of your family about the wonder and power in their dream lives.

REAL TIME with a TEACHER will move into a comfortable, regularity on the second Thursday of each month from 2pm to 10pm (CST).  As our membership increases and scholars log on, I anticipate this will become a favorite time of interaction for people around the world.  I envision it as a cybercafe where people in many countries gather to enjoy each other's company because they are of like minds with similar interest.  I expect it will attract quite a crowd in the months and years to come.

Within the week we anticipate a space on the REAL TIME index page where you can submit your suggestions for the theme of the next REAL TIME.  Please submit your ideas, questions, and proposals.  We'll review them the first of the month and send out emails about the consensus or best idea for discussion.

Until then, be well and generous in your dreams and in your life,

Barbara

Dreamschool Scholar class at COM

In our Dreamschool Scholar class here at the College Metaphysics, we have been studying the 6th lesson in the third volume of the program.  This lesson focuses on how to connect our dreams with our daily activity.  We are doing so by, throughout the day, recognizing where our thoughts are, where we are placing our thoughts in the moment.  Then we see how that can affect our dreams at night.

I have come to new understandings of how we affect the whole or other people. for example, I had a dream that talked about glue.  It all started during the day where I realized I was holding the group together in a particular project we were working on.  During this project, I asked the question prescribed in the lesson:   "Where am I?"  That night I had the dream about this glue in a box.  There was a box on the dining room table.  I had just bought the house and the person who owned this house before me left the box there.  A note said, "The only thing I keep in this box is glue."

This dream showed me how we are connected.  I am the link to my classmates.

I think you will appreciate this, Pam.

Last weekend, our son Hezekiah celebrated his 15th trip around the sun by sharing the movie "The Forbidden Kingdom" an informative as well as entertaining martial arts movie made in the last couple years in China.  For those of you unfamiliar with martial arts, it is more than self defense.

Martial arts is one branch or way for humanity to understand infinite energy.  It reminds me of religious pursuits.  There are Sunday-only, never-read-the-Bible people and there are mystic-sages who live the esoteric teachings like the Kaballah people.  Then there is everything in-between.  This is the great journey of any life - from infancy through wisdom to transcendence.  Regardless of the field we choose, the initiations are the same.

So what we know as martial arts, particularly in the West, is an often watered-down, childlike version of what is actually a code for living an honorable and holy life.  This is why the monks were the ones who taught the arts for centuries.  Materialism has never been a Western-only idea.  Materialism is an effect of consciousness manifesting in the Seventh Level of Mind.

So now we come to some thoughts about this month's prompt.  The four practices ask us to think differently while awake.  We must extricate our consciousness from its preoccupation in the sensory world.  The lesson Josephine and her classmates are studying brings consciousness into light. (See her entry)

Watching this martial arts film - which by the way is excellent in all respects and one that Kie and I are promoting on kungfu-chef.com as one to be shared with children - stimulated me to think about roots and maturity and evolution.  It also brought back the memory of a series of dreams I had when I began studying metaphysics in my 20s.  For years, I would dream of moving with grace through dream scenes.  I rarely described it as flying; it was much more like floating.  Moving at will, without dependence upon the legs and feet to propel me forward.  They were used, along with the hands and arms to balance and direct the movement.  I learned that these dreams were a manifestation of the spiritual disciplines I was pursuing at SOM.  Mental concentration, Life Force entrainment, and astral projection were expressing in my dreams in this way each time I appeared in my dream (for increasingly I was "in" my dreams less and less often).  By the late 70s, when I was pursuing my doctorate, I had begun to manifest a presence in the inner levels that could be sensed by others.  The dream experience you note here reminds me of this phenomena of projection.

Until last Saturday, I had understood these experiences in a particular way.  Now, I realize a broader scope of impact from past life preparation that went into the awareness in my 20s and 30s.  The relative ease with which I moved through the practices, assignments, and exercises in the SOM program was always due to my being prepared - subconsciously and consciously.  This I admitted.  What I had not acknowledged was the considerable martial arts training I had received in past lives that had showed itself in my dreams in my youth, in my good health throughout my life, and even in the speed with which I had been trained as an Intuitive Reporter.

Watching people on a screen move with such precision, ease, speed, and agility sparked an affirmation of where I have come from and a deeper appreciation of what that means.  This is an example of all four practices.  In my present life, it has helped to fuel the desire to make these revelations fully conscious in the NOW.  So on Tuesday, when we took Kie to his Kung Fu class - taught by a seasoned Master who holds ninth degree black belts in several disciplines - I participated.  For me, the next chapter of the Book of Life has begun.

Greetings! I had a dream last

Greetings!

I had a dream last night about Mother Teresa.  That's really all I remember about the dream.  At the time I had the dream, I knew it was a dream and that I wanted to remember it.  Then I had another dream where I saw Dr. Barbara Condron and wanted to tell her about my dream which I did.  When I woke up, this is all I remember. This is the first time I've been aware of a dream with Mother Teresa.  I think this is significant.  Mother Teresa is an influential figure in the world who gave her life in service to others.  I know the awakening I am experiencing right now is being more and more aware of the field of consciousness and my responsibility in it as well as teaching others their responsibility with the choices they make and how they affect the web of consciousness.  I have also been doing the Tibetan practice and intend to continue with it.  I look forward to hearing from others.
