  1. Night Terrors following the WTC bombing

The events of September 11, 2001 entered into many dreams.  Here, the author of The Dreamer's Dictionary Dr. Barbara Condron writes a narrative of how her then six-year-old son fared in the face of knowledge about the destruction of the Twin Towers in NYC.

  2. The Dream Mystery - The Many Facets of Dream Interpretation

The Dream Mystery is a documentary incorporating many ways of looking at and interpreting dreams. Those interviewed include Dr. Stanley Krippner, Robert Moss, Patricia Garfield, Rita Dwyer, Richard Wilkerson, Viki Anderson, Beverley d'Urso and others during the 2009 IASD Conference. The question posed to them was

"What do you find profound and interesting about dreams?"

The answers were varied and reflect the many faceted ways we see our night time experiences.  The answers also showed what we have in common.  The awe in the dream experience and the affirming of how much dreams can teach us shines in this film.

    The Genius Code....
a Spiritual Focus Weekend at the College of Metaphysics

Artistic genius. For many people the idea is appealing; for others, it is intimidating. We hear about the stereotypical "crazy artist" who works in a flourish of creative frenzy. The frenetic activity is followed by periods of depression, alcoholism, drugs, or even suicide. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vincent Van Gogh, Ludwig von Beethoven were all reported to live lives of emotional turmoil accompanying their exquisite artistic genius.

  5. DREAM WALKER

    A dreamschool email inquiry

Since dreamschool.org went online in 1997, we have received thousands of dreams each year. Some are quite ordinary - the teeth-falling-out, naked-in-public experiences - and some, like this one, are extraordinary.

  6. Inception: Who’s Controlling Your Mind?

By Laurel Clark, School of Metaphysics

Inception movie posterWhat is this movie about, anyway? Dreams? Thought projection? Resolving unfinished business? Control?

    All of this, and more!

It is a complex portrayal of what happens when a group decides to dream together. It is definitely a movie, and many of its plot lines and visuals seem to be pure entertainment (for those who are entertained by explosions and gunfire!) At the same time, I was intrigued to see the writers depict some truths about the mind.

  7. Everyone Needs to See this Film, or How Sixteen Schools in the Midwest U.S. came to Host a Scottish Film on Dreams

    by Barbara Condron

"PBS has a show on dreams on Tuesday night," my husband Daniel mentions at dinner.  He knows I am interested.  It is a subject we have explored and taught throughout our adult lives as teachers at the School of Metaphysics, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution teaching consciousness evolution.

I sigh.  Tuesdays are my days in town with Hezekiah, our 15-year-old, who is a serious martial artist.

It would have been easy to let the August 24, 2010 airing of The Edge of Dreaming pass by.  Yet one of the abilities a metaphysician develops is the interpretation of energies that enables her to perceive lines of probability.  Sound a bit lofty?  It's actually similar to how financial wizards note trends that tell them when to trade or how pilots adjust flight plans to changes in the weather or how your mom just "knew" you'd be on time, late, or missing in action.  All of these are examples of actions of the mind, operating behind the scenes of the people, places, and things that fill our busy lives.

  8. Kundalini, Chakras, and Dreams

Using dreams to know connectedness as the true nature of reality

The words kundalini, prana, and chakras are unknown or mysterious to some, however, more and more of the Western world is becoming aware of these Eastern words and concepts.

This presentation will focus on the creative energy known as Kundalini, chakras or energy transformers of the body, and prana of life force and their influence on dreaming and dream content.

  9. FANTASY in DREAMS

By Karen Mosby & Dr. Barbara Condron

    Everyone has fantasies.

Children fantasize about being heroes or princesses. Adults have fantasies of being movie stars, being millionaires, or spies with expensive cars and beautiful woman. A fantasy is a way to use the imagination in non-productive ways as the mind is allowed to wander without intelligent direction. Most adults have not learned how to transform their skill at producing fantasies into directed imaging which is termed visualization.

  10. Dream Interpreters Make Better Parents

"Troubled people have troubled dreams." I reflected on that thought when I learned about the Columbine tragedy.
