This year’s Global Lucid Dream Experiment is promising to be very exciting. Already there are many more countries participating compared to last year. Not shown on the recent pie chart are Antarctica and India who have sent in demographics. This completes a goal to have EVERY CONTINENT participate.

Some of the other observations from the initial data that stand out are that there are many participants who record their dreams and remember more than 10 dreams per week. Last year it was rare for anyone to approach remembering 10 dreams in a week. This year there are 23 participants out of the first 147 that remember 10 or more dreams per week. There are 4 who remember more than 20 dreams per week!! The fact that many record their dreams shows that there are a lot of interest in understanding and using dreams. The level 3 and level 4 dreamers are also more abundant this year.
As of tonight, January 22, 2008 there are 147 completed participants compared to 108 in 2007. There are also many others that have sent in their interest and willingness to participate and have not completed their demographics; or the headquarters have not received them. These, plus the fact that people can register to participate until the beginning of February suggest that there will be at least double the number of dreamers in the experiment.

for those who need the fourth-full moon read, the alternate date for January 22 is the full moon of Friday,
March 21st 2:40 pm EST
To begin analyzing the effect of the moon on dreaming, we are assembling a global group of dreamers who will report dream activity over the next 2 months. Four specific days are pinpointed (see above), each determined by the phase of the moon. Dreamers will answer three questions:
1. Did you remember a dream?
2. If yes, what occurred in the dream?
3. Was this a lucid dream*?
Those who register before FEBRUARY 3rd can still participate.
