Synesthesia Setting
in the Peace Dome
for April 29, 2007 GLOBAL LUCID DREAMING EXPERIMENT

Synesthesia

When directed, the capacity for lucidity with the senses, whether awake or asleep, is a characteristic of genius.  Those who experience synesthesia often experience a state of harmonization between conscious and subconscious minds.  This makes them more intuitive than the average.  For instance, synesthesia gives one the ability to intuitively know which colors are warm and which colors are cool.  To one with this ability, sounds leave a taste in the mouth, aromas are felt in the body.

The heightened sense is not a function of physical reception.  Rather it is a function of mental reception, the result of the quality and wholeness of the attention.  This state of attentiveness can be taught, learned, and developed.

For those who identify themselves as Level 4 dreamers, synesthesia seems to come naturally.  Ninety percent of the Level 4 dreamers reported synesthesia experiences during the GLOBAL LUCID DREAMING EXPERIMENT.  In almost all the physical sense categories the perceptions were identical.  The meta-physical categories showed some variation, particularly in the emotional tone and spiritual tone.  There may be connections between the presence of dreams and the responses here.  This is being studied now.

For now, particularly for those who participated on this level, here are the synesthesia readings in the Peace Dome experience of April 29, 2007 between 5-8 am CDT.

• Sight: Light All colors are present, primary among them is white.  In the first floor the colors of the mandala are outstanding, the natural slate foyer tiles and the wooden ceiling beams are worth noting.  Upstairs the predominant color is again white, with the many colorful flags and red cushions.
• Sound: soft   Silence in the upper chamber, softly playing LUCID DREAMING CD downstairs.  Occasional sounds from barnyard of rooster and guineas announcing the morning.
• Taste: Sweet The fresh country air and aroma of the holy basil taste sweet.
• Smell: Pungent downstairs, mild upstairs
• Touch: Smooth The carpets are soft and textured, the slate tiles cool and smooth.
• Physical Tone: Relaxed

The space is created with a relaxed thought form.  The only physical presence is that of the college chancellor who remains in still mind meditation.

• Emotional Tone:  Calm The existing emotional tone is calm.  The emotional tone of those projecting here is varied.
• Mental Tone: Still

The pervading mental tone is stillness. The mental tone of those projecting here is primarily harmonious with this.

• Spiritual Tone: Secure           The spiritual tone is equinamous, encompassing both secure and ambivalent, resting in the reality of neither, either, yet both.
