Weekend Hotline for Dreamers

"What we are learning about dreaming will change the character and nature of our interactions with others," said researcher Barbara Condron of dreamschool.org . "People are more inclined to talk about dreams today than ever before."

The website is sponsored by the School of Metaphysics, a 501(c)3 educational institute investigating the development of the Mind's potential. Researchers at the SOM seeks to understand the nature and purpose of dream phenomena. Insight into flying dreams, lucid dreams, being naked in public dreams, teeth falling out dreams, even dreaming of people who have died appearing in dreams are subjects being explored.

“With the shifting economy in the news daily, headlines focus repeatedly on what we are losing and what we don’t know in the future," Condron said.  "This promotes fear that reflects in the 400% increase in nightmares reported at dreamschool.org since last summer.  These come from dreamers worldwide, not just in the United States.”  Condron thinks the part of mind that brings the disturbing dreams can – and will given the opportunity – just as easily give us answers.

Dreamers can become educated in understanding their dreams by calling the annual National Dream Hotline®. Dr. Laurel Clark, national president of SOM, said, "Learning how to interpret your dreams is a way that every single day you can have insight into who you are, how to be more purposeful, how to understand the experiences in your life, how to be more fulfilled." Clark is one of the co-authors of Lucid Dreaming edited by Dr. Teresa Martin.

Martin said, "Hundreds of books are available through bookstores, dozens of websites give information about dreams. The National Dream Hotline® is a unique opportunity for talking with a dreamologist."

The hotline seeks to educate people from around the world about the function of dreams and their relevance to our everyday, waking lives. Thousands of people from all 50 United States plus Canada, Australia and Europe have called to find answers to their questions about dreams.

The hotline occurs only the fourth weekend in April each year. Dreamers can call the National Dream Hotline at (417) 345-8411 Friday, April 24 through midnight Sunday, April 26. There is no charge for the call other than the toll charge from your long distance carrier.

Dreamers can also send their dreams to dreams@dreamschool.org where the top ten dreams of the week are interpreted by faculty at the College of Metaphysics.
