FORGOTTEN ROOM

Help me figure this recurrent dream out, please!!!

I dream that I have an area of my home that I have never even explored or given a thought to, almost being unaware it exists.  There is always a animal involved (like a pet fish or cat or dog) that I have completely neglected, near death or already there and I wake up in a panic that these things are real and that I have not taken care of them and it's my fault for forgetting about them.  It takes me a while to figure out that I was dreaming.  One time I even got up and went looking for a pet fish in this dream, almost like sleepwalking.  I was really embarassed when I realized what had happened.

This has been going on for two years, but occurs in times of stress and marital discourse.  Any clues?

Thank you!

This dream is a message from your inner mind telling you that there are areas of your mind you have left unattended.  The mind is symbolized by a house and when you fail to give attention to a part of you mind it go to shambles just like an uncared for room.  The day before having these dreams you addressed this forgotten area of your mind.  What did you talk about that you had been avoiding?  These stressful times are the product of neglect of a space with you that if you continually gave attention to you could rehab and it would cause these situations to be more peaceful.

OLD FRIEND

For several months I have been having a dream about a friend that I had not seen in seven years. In these dreams I turn around to find him standing back behind me and smiling. Last night I had a dream that he called to say he was coming to the area that I live in.

In my dream I invited him to stay with me. As I was cleaning my house in preparation for his possible visit (a place I have not lived at since I was in junior high/high school) he called to tell me where he was at. He gave me very detailed directions to get to the restaurant he was at which was located by or at an airport. While he was giving me directions I passed an open doorway and looked into this bedroom. Inside were three empty rocking chairs which were all rocking. I interrupted him to say that the chairs were rocking and he told me that I was scaring him. I told him it was okay, because I was leaving and as I placed my hand on the front doorknob I realized that I did not get all of the directions from him when I interrupted him. I also realized that I was very scared.

In this dream I never did see him, I only spoke with him on the phone. It was very vivid and his voice was his voice - I've only spoke with him one time in the past seven years but it was definitely his normal speaking voice which is very calm and mellow.  I'm not sure what all of these dreams mean.

Your dream indicates a period of getting your mind in order.  It is in preparation for connecting with your inner mind as represented by your friend.  Because this dream is centered around your communication with this old friend it is important for you to identify this friend’s most outstanding characteristic.  This quality or characteristic is a quality that you possess that you have been out of touch with and recently endeavored to connect with.

It is important to practice listening completely in interactions with others.  As you do, you will find you have what you need and are able to respond and learn the lessons that are available for you.

INFIDELITY

I keep dreaming that my husband has left me for another woman. Different setting both times but with the same woman that I don't know all I remember is that she is a redhead.

Marriage in a dream symbolizes the commitment of your inner and outer mind, termed the conscious and subconscious minds.  Since in your dream your husband is unfaithful, this indicates areas in which you have broken commitments to yourself.  This might be in saying you want to exercise as a way to become healthier, but not doing it.  Or practicing a form of meditation daily to deepen your understanding of who you are and not following through.

This dream is a reoccurring message from your inner mind saying that you need to commit your Self to learning from your experiences and acting on the thoughts you have for your personal well-being.

THE RING

I dreamt that I received a beautiful diamond ring from a past love, (who is now happily married and I am great friends with both).  It was absolutely beautiful, I was shocked because we were not dating and had not seen each other in months.  I then left my home and went to the emergency room for blood tests and met my aunt who lives in the US, (I'm in Canada) she said she bought me a beautiful pair of pants, they were quite lovely and way too big, but I decided to wear them because I loved them, (I changed into them in the parking lot of the hospital, broad daylight). The dream then switched to my dads bedroom which is down the hall from mine at home, and there was a beautiful baby sitting in a car seat on his night table, it was crying, which is why I went to my dads room in the first place.  Then I woke up.

Dreams reflect the state of mind of the dreamer from the previous day, which functions as a form of feedback from the subconscious mind.  These messages come in the form of pictures.  The people, places, and things in a dream represent the dreamer in some way.

This dream reflects a deep commitment and its following affect or impact on the life itself.  In waking life, diamond rings are highly prized pieces of jewelry, which are often associated with marriage.  The function of a diamond ring as a dream symbol is to describe in symbolic form the action of committing the life to self-discovery, spiritual growth, and a sense of higher purpose or calling.  Since members of the opposite sex in dreams represent subconscious aspects, receiving the ring from a past love indicates that this commitment is in alignment with the subconscious mind, a deeper part of mind that can be described as the residence of the soul.  In other words, the level of commitment to your ideals, goals, dreams, who you want to become, etc. was highly pronounced in the day previous to your dream.

The rest of the dream describes what happens after the commitment has been made.  In dream language, buildings in a dream represent states of mind.  Therefore, going to a hospital for the blood tests shows that there’s a movement towards wholeness, since hospitals function as a place to become whole and healthy.  From this, the outer expression changes (receiving the pants).  The pants are big right now, but you’ll grow into them as you develop and mature through the new commitment.

Finally, your commitment leads you into being inside your dad’s bedroom.  In dreams, rooms of the house represent different parts of mind.  Since a bedroom is used for sleep, it represents the part of mind that aids us to assimilate our experiences.  Since this is your dad’s bedroom, it represents a way that your whole mind is in the process of change and alignment.  Parents, doctors, bosses, and other authoritative people in the life represent the inner authority, or the part of you that is in touch with the ideal you, the you of your highest potential.  Whether people realize it or not, each experience in life is an opportunity to learn, which eventually leads to fulfilling their highest potentials.  Your commitment to yourself has brought you to this playing field.

The presence of the baby suggests that now is the time to nurture this new existence, for baby’s in dreams represent new ideas.  As you continue to make the choices to be true to your ideals, dreams, goals, self-discovery, and self-development, this new baby will mature and grow.

Congratulations on having what is called a ring dream in metaphysical study.  It is a sign that you’re doing great things and a validation of greater things to come.

LOST BOYS OF THE TUNDRA

I dreamed I was writing a book.  It was about urban boys who are caught in the cycle of misjustice, crime and gangs.  I had access to boys in the criminal justice system for interviews.  I also seemed to know them well and went out on the street with them sometimes.  The name of the book is, "Lost Boys of the Tundra."  Although much of the cityscape was dark, the overall feeling was hopeful.

In dream language, books represent information.  Just as we read books to gain information that we store in our memory for immediate or future use, books represent the action in the mind of the dreamer’s ability in using the information.  Actively writing a book in your dream reflects your ability to use the information you have in the life and actively create something with it.

The content of the book itself and the presence of the boys in the dream can help identify the type of information and movement in the mind that occurs in your waking life.  Members of the opposite sex represent subconscious aspects, or qualities called understandings, like courage, gracefulness, communication, love, freedom, and resilience, within you.  Their age and status as part of the criminal justice system reveals that they represent aspects that are still in development (in adolescence), perhaps parts of yourself that you’ve held back or haven’t expressed.  However, the action of interviewing them and writing a book about them shows that you’re identifying and connecting with these parts of yourself to a greater degree.  This action can lead to greater awareness and a more freeing experience of self-expression, which will lead you to becoming the great author of your life to a greater depth.

The book Dharma: Finding Your Soul’s Purpose by Dr. Laurel Clark contains several examples and stories of people discovering and fulfilling their mission or purpose in life. As pictures are worth a thousand words, this book paints pictures that can aid you to imagine the thousands of possibilities as you travel the road of self-discovery.

Suddenly I wake up in a endless oneway  hallway. the walls are covered in vines with pink flowers on them. I search around and door apears. The door looks like the gate entenance to a Japanese Castle, only it was a normal size door. There was a little girl with blue hair with a dark blue kimono and pink flowers. In front of her was a rectangle stone filled with Purple foxglove. She picks ones and gives it to me, then leaves. Say nothing and disappers. Soon, after the left hallway is filled with darkness. Then a girl with spited yellow hair. She wears a black shirt with grey dangally sleves. She has big craws. Shes an liquid crome android. She looks human. We both stair each other down. Then she charges at me. We are about to start a battle.

Then I wake up.

Dreams are messages from the subconscious mind that give feedback on the previous day’s attitudes, emotions, state of mind, and actions.  This is communicated in a picture language where people, places, and things represent the dreamer in some way.

In this dream, the elements of fantasy reflect a state of mind centered in fantasy.    Entering a Japanese Castle, walls covered in vines with pink flowers, and fighting an android are all elements of fantasy, which sheds light on the need to become more grounded, so-to-speak.  One of the major components of being grounded is developing the ability to be present, to direct the attention to the present time, place, and interaction.  Once this is established, hold the attention there.

Do you ever catch yourself thinking about something that has nothing to do with the activity in the moment, the person who is speaking to you, or the meal in front of you during dinnertime?  If you do, ask yourself, “How many times does my mind wander in a day?”  Asking yourself questions like these throughout the day will help you identify your where you place your attention.  Like a rambunctious monkey, it may take some time to hone your ability to direct your attention at will.  However, as with anything, you’ll become stronger through consistent practice.

In the context of the dream, there’s awareness that the elements of fantasy you experience are artificial, as shown by the presence of the android you are about to battle.  From awareness comes the opportunity for change.  The same imagination that’s employed for fantasy can be used for productivity in the present.  Write a list of ten goals you want to accomplish each day, spending some time envisioning your goals being completed.  At the end of the day, review what you’ve accomplished.  As you direct your attention to the present goals, you will know who you are, what you’re made of, and connect with deeper parts of yourself: the transformation of battling with androids to meeting real women in your dreams.

MY HUSBAND NEEDS HELP!

I dreamt my husband and I were leaving a restaurant and he got on a motorcyle and was backing up (I was standing by the stairs of the restaurant).  Just then I saw something very quickly pass by on the right.  The next thing I know my husband is lying face down on the pavement, as well as some other person (a man I think) that I had never seen before.  I run to my husband and see his car key on the ground in one spot, a shoe in another spot and I run to him screaming his name.  When I get to him I realize he has been decapitated.  I am screaming and screaming and searching for where the head is.  One part of me realizes there must be a car or something that hit them but I can't find anything.  I remember thinking if I find his head I will know if he is okay or not.  Then some strangers come and walk past me where I am screaming, and continue to go on in and order popcorn.  I become angry because  they are not helping and yell at one woman, who tells me her husband passed away a month ago.  I am angry at her because she should have compassion.  Then I begin screaming and searching for his head again, refusing to believe he is dead.

This dream was so intense that when i woke I felt physically ill.

Response

The intensity of this dream is present in order to assure that you will receive and remember this dream message.  There is an identity, a way of looking at your inner Self that you have been practicing.  Something has changed in the way you look at and think about your Self.  A part of you wants things to be the same but they are not and the intense nature of this dream is a good indicator that it is time to reassess your own commitment to learning from all your experiences.  Do you attempt to learn from your experiences in life?  Are you different at the end of the day, or at the end the week?  Our life offers us a schoolroom for learning about the nature of the Universe and creation.  What do you want from your life?  If you can answer this then take the steps necessary to create what you want.  If not, then it is time to decide and give your mind a point of focus.

Your dream indicates a major shift in how you see yourself.  Embrace the changes that are occurring and it is likely that you will experience a greater sense of peace within and that the intensity of your dreams will change as well.

 GIANT WOMAN’S GAZE

while walking in a nieghborhood I came upon a person too talk to. while conversing, all of a sudden I hear what sounds like a foriegn language being spoken through that of a long hollow mega-phone it sounded like slovac. Any way this really TALL woman appeared she had on a long blue dress she was overlooking the trees and houses. I was too dumbfounded to be scared the lady was not a threat as she was carrying on a conversation her self while looking down towards her feet. I did not see whom she was talking too, then she turned an looked in my direction, then knelt down while still talking to the unseen person an looking directly in the direction of myself an the person that I was talking to. I asked the person with me is this for real? then I woke up very puzzeled indeed? A really giant women!

Response

In your waking state 24-48 hours before this dream you were communicating with parts of yourself.  Part of what you were aware of was a means for communication that you do not quite understand.  This is important and connected to the tall woman in your dream.

The tall woman symbolizes an unknown aspect of your inner mind.  The oversize shape is significant.  There is a need and a focus for you to become much more attentive to your inner Self, your soul or subconscious mind.  As you do so, you will begin to develop a friendship with this part of yourself where you will be able to speak the same language.

One of the best, if not the best, way to develop a friendship with your inner Self is by remembering, interpreting, and applying your dreams to waking life.  We recommend studying dreams through Dreams 101 through www.dreamschool.org

 DISEASE NIGHTMARE

The other night I dreamt that several of my family members and I were going somewhere. When they arrived the youngest, Madison, who is a toddler, was not alive. Her eyes were black, her skin was white and pasty and she was not breathing yet nobody seemed desturbed. I was furious that they would not listen to my attemps to get her help. They said she had a disease and that she was not fully dead yet. I held her on the way to where ever it was that we were going. I awoke in a sweat and went to the bathroom. I fell back to sleep easily. The dream picked back up, only now I was in a quaint little house that I've never seen before. I was sitting on the floor in the living room next to a small bed. AJ, my son's father, was laying on the bed. He appeared to have the same disease that Madison had, only he was still alive and alert. I held his hand and cried. I had overwhelming feelings of sadness and helplessness. I was  distraught that nobody seemed to care and that I was of no help at all. There was nothing that I could do... I awoke in a sweat again still with the overwhelming feeling of sadness. This dream really scared me... I tried to condense it as much as possible, I only told the parts that seemed pertinant. Any input would be much appreciated.

When you dream of sickness your subconscious mind is letting you know that there are parts of yourself out of harmony with Universal Law and Truth.  In other words you have produced thoughts that are unproductive and are destructive to worthwhile new ideas and your inner Self as represented by AJ.

It is important for you or anyone to realize that you have power in your life.  You have power in your mind once you begin to realize that you can produce thoughts and follow through on thoughts.  For instance, you can say today I am going to clean my house.  If you do that, you then have an experience of your own power to create your life.  If you say “Today I am going to meet three people and brighten up their day” and meet two new neighbors and a check out clerk leaving them all smiling then once again you have created your life as you thought it.  We recommend the book Concentration as Dr. Laurel Clark found on www.som.org to help you with the rest.

GROUNDED FOR LIFE

My friend was 5 months pregnant in my dream, but yet she's not pregnant in real life.  The dream took place in present tense, meaning it wasn't years later.  My friend right now is 18 years old, and just finished high school.

In the dream, she finally told her parents she was pregnant.  Her dad grounded her for life.  She wasn't allowed to use a cell phone or computer anymore, but yet she was still allowed to go to the movies.

What does this mean?  What does it mean that my friend was 5 months pregnant in my dream, when in real life she isn't pregnant?

female/PA, United States

Response

The first and most important fact in dream interpretation is that every dream is describing your state of consciousness, and therefore is about your thinking, emoting, and acting the day before.  If you were going to describe your friend in one or two words to a stranger what would she be?  Funny?  Joyous?  Introspective?  This helps you to identify the quality that is being highlighted within yourself.

When we dream of people we are seeing in symbolic form different parts of ourselves.  Now you know what part of yourself is pregnant, or developing a new idea.  This could be in terms of occupation, relationships, or even reflecting a developing idea about eating whether that is less food or more vegetables.

It’s up to you to identify what new idea you are developing and doing so will aid you to use your imagination (movies) to continue to nurture it and stay focused on the original idea which requires a disciplined mind (being grounded).
