EIGHT MONTHS IN A CHURCH...OLD FRIENDS...KILLER WHALE WATER SLIDE...YOU MAKE ME FEEL…(LIKE  NATURAL WOMAN)...THE VOICE IN THE FOG...POLAR BEAR...TIGER MEN...MY BROTHER IS WEARING A BLACK LADY SUIT...MY SON NEEDS HELP...DIVING IN THE OCEAN, OHH NO!

EIGHT MONTHS IN A CHURCH

I work with a 20 year old girl who has been a 'jehovah's witness since birth.  I was raised in a pentecostal church but now am a member of a non dominion church.  She believes the symbol of the cross is paganism and my whole entire faith is based on the cross.  We set are differences aside and are still very friendly with each other and respect each others beliefs.

my dream was I wwas sitting in a church beside my co-worker/friend watching a preacher on a big screen.  She was wearing a red dress with a very noticiable rip down the side of her dress, she was complaining alot about her shoes she was wearing. I was sitting Quietly beside her in a white dress. there are thousands of people at this church, we had to go back like 10 rooms to find a seat.  I looked over and seen afamilar female face.  She smiled at me, and I felt like she was telling me with her smile she knew  something was getting ready to happ en. Minutes later something happened.  We were stuck in the church for 8 months.  After the 8 months some people showed up to rescue the elderly and sick people of the church.  The people rescuing were regular people. There were no rescue people left.  The whole earth was flooded.

Then I woke up.

As shown by your dream, spirituality is an important part of your life.  Your attention, the day before this dream goes to your spiritual foundation as you passively imagine what it is to live a life of spirituality.  Though you are in a spiritual state of mind your ability to be comfortable with your beliefs is low and this shows up in how you express yourself.  Due to the passive use of imagination and lack of clarity within your beliefs as they apply to every moment of everyday your value (the numerological symbol for 8) is tested and overwhelmed by your conscious life experiences as represented by the flood.

Write out a paper entitled: “This is what I believe” and answer the question twenty five times.  Do not screen any of the answers.  Let them flow out of you.  At the end, you can evaluate which ones support your relationship with your Creator and which one’s don’t.  Then gather up the ones that support your relationship and continue to use them, magnifying them in your life.  Let go of the ones that do not help you deepen your relationship with Self, others, and the Creator.

For instance, lets imagine that you write down “I believe that some people are incorrect in their religious beliefs.”  Looking at that sentence from Holy books like the Bible, the Tao Teh Ching, and Bhagavad Gita you realize that loving others is important and that even though you differ in beliefs it is important to show your love for all people.  You decide then to focus on loving others regardless of their beliefs.  Being able to change and update your spiritual beliefs will increase the value of your perspective like dusting off an old piece of jewelry until it shines.  This will then aid you to have more mental control over your life because you have a strong foundation upon which to stand.

OLD FRIENDS

Two individuals I grew up with recently were in one of my dreams together.  Both had passed on years ago; one due to illness and another in a car accident.  Both spoke to me casually as if just visiting.  Although the individual that passed due to illness and I discussed how things had been difficult for her, her response was she was fine now.  After 20+ years' why am I dreaming/thinking of these folks?  In the last week I've had many unusual dreams that I have thought about throughout my day.

Response

People in dreams represent aspects or qualities of the dreamer.  These qualities can be anything from generosity and kindness to laziness and arrogance, all dependant upon how the dreamer sees that particular person.  Think about the friends in your dreams.  Describe them as if you’re describing the type of people they were when you knew them.  The most outstanding qualities you see in them will determine what they represent in dreams.

The context in which they appear and the type of interaction you had with them in your dreams will give indications or how you are relating to that part of yourself.  If you’re getting along with this person in the dream, then the dream would reflect your own harmony or confidence with the quality they represent.  Additionally, their presence in your dreams most likely indicate past thinking or past ways of experiencing the particular qualities they represent, because they are from your past.  The act of reflecting upon your past and what you’ve learned as an individual up to this point in your life is an action that could be a stimulus for their presence in your dreams.

KILLER WHALE WATER SLIDE

OK I AM RIDING A BIKE WITH A FRIEND AND I GO TO THE OLD CREEK THAT I USED TO PLAY IN AS A LITTLE GIRL. I GO DOWN IN TO THE CREEK AND UNDER THE ROAD IN THE TUNNEL AND IT BECOMES A HIGH WATER SLIDE WITH CRYSTAL CLEAR BLUE WATER. I LAND IN A HUGE BODY OF WATER DEEP AND CLEAR THAT DRIFTS ME TO THE EDGE OF THIS SOMEHOW MAN MADE POOL THAT WATERFALLS DOWN TO THE SECOND HUGE POOL CRYSTAL CLEAR. AS I DRIFT TO THE THIRD POOL I SEE FINS EVERYWHERE IN THE THIRD POOL BELOW. I AM AFRAID AND FRANTICALLY SWIM BACK SO I WILL NOT FALL INTO THE THIRD POOL OF FINS AND REACH THE FIRST POOL AGIAN WHERE THE LADDER WAS TO GET OUT OF THE WATER. I NOTICE THAT THE SIZE OF THE WATER CREATURES AND RELIZE THAT THEY ARE KILLER WHALES ABOUT 25-30 OF THEM AND THEY ALL SWIM UP TO THE FIRST WATERFALL TO GET CLOSER TO ME I SWIM AND SWIM AND THEN WHEN I LOOK BACK I SEE THAT THREE OF THEM MANGED TO GET UP THE SLOPE INTO POOL OF WATER I WAS IN AND O NE IS SWIMMING TOWARDS ME I MANAGE TO GET TO THE LAST UPSLOPE WATERFALL AND PULL MYSELF UP INTO THE FIRST BODY OF WATER AND THE KILLER WHALE ALSO MANGES TO GET INTHERE AT THE SAME TIME. AGIAN ITS SWIMMING TOWARDS ME AND I AM NOT QUITE SURE IF IT WANTS TO HURT ME BUT OUT OF FEAR I BELIEVE IT WANTS TO ATTACK ME. ITS CLOSE SO I DIVE UNDER THE WATER AND WACH IT SWIM AT ME I WAIT UNTIL IT GETS CLOSE AND I MOVE TO ONE SIDE QUICKLY AND GRAB HOLD OF ITS TOP FINN AND LET IT PULL ME UP TO THE TOP. I RELEASE IT SEEMS CONFUSED TO WHERE I WAS AND I SWIM AGIAN FAST TWORDS THE LADDER TO GET OUT. THERE ARE CROWDS OF PEOPLE WATCHING ME WHY I WONDER WHERE DID THEY COME FROM. I SEE ONLY ONE THAT STANDS OUT A LITTLE GIRL BLONDE MABEY 6 OR 7 YEARS OLD. I NOTICE ANOTHER WHALE GET OVER THE SLOPE INTO THE FIRST POOL AND IT IS GUNNING TOWARDS ME I MANAGE TO REACH THE LADDER AND GET OUT JUST IN TIME. IM SOAKED OVERWHELMED SCARED AND THANKFUL I AM OUT OF THE WATER. THEN I NOTICE THE LITTLE BLONDE GIRL  IN THE WATER OVER WHERE I WAS. SHE IS STRUGGLING TO SWIM AND IS TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THE WHALES AS WELL AND THEY JUST SEEM TO SWIM IN CIRCLES AROUND HER. THOUGH I AM SCARED OF INSTINCT I DIVE BACK IN THE WATER TO SAVE HER. I AM CRYING AND PRAYING AND YELLING FOR HER TO SWIM TO ME AS I SWIM TO HER. I SOMEHOW MANGE TO GET MYSELF RIGHT BACK WHERE I WAS WITH THE WHALES AFTER ME AGIAN AND MORE TRYING TO GET IN THE POOL FROM BELOW AND DISTRACTED THEM LONG ENOUGH TO SEE THAT THE GIRL REACHED THE LADDER AND MANAGED TO GET BACK OUT. THEN I WAKE UP

This dream is about habitual ways of thinking in daily activities. Water represents our life experiences. The water slides are ways in which your experiences are sweeping you away. The pools are deeper and calmer times. The killer whales, since they are animals, represent habitual ways of thinking, thinking the same thing without much awareness of the thought. Fish, or in this case whales, are specifically related to spirituality. For example something happens that a person doesn’t like and they say “God is punishing me again.” Running away from the habit showed many unfamiliar people including the young girl. People in dreams are different parts of our self. The little girl is a developing part of your self, one that you are becoming aware of. If we recognize people in our dreams, then we know what part of ourselves they represent by describing them in one or two words. It was when you were running from these habits and detached your self from your experiences that you almost lost the new part of your self. The message in this dream is first a need to concentrate when you are feeling swept away by what is going on around you. When you can identify the thoughts that are sneaking in, once you have identified the habits, then you can replace them with more productive thoughts.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL…(LIKE  NATURAL WOMAN)

Recently I have been having this recuring dream. In the begining I start out as myself but as the dream continues I seem to be turned more and more feminine. The changes happen and I don't notice until it is too late. By the end I become a total woman and I always end up in front of a mirror with a blue dress of some sort on. Sometimes my mom or girlfriend is there and they seem to be helping the changes. What could all this possibly mean?

male/IN, United States

Response

This dream reflects the state of your being, not in the sense that you’re becoming more feminine outwardly and certainly not physically.  It does reveal where most of your mental attention lies.  Whenever you have members of the opposite sex in your dream, they will represent what are called subconscious aspects: inner qualities you possess in the forms of natural abilities or talents, or thoughts that are developing in your thinking that haven’t been expressed yet.  Another way to look at it are the thoughts and qualities that you have that exist inside of you, rather than outward qualities, like your personality.  Members of the same sex represent conscious aspects, or those qualities of the personality or how you use your physical situations and existence to learn and develop as an individual.

In the case of the dream, you mention only women in your dreams as well as the physical transformation into a woman.  A balanced male/female ratio in dreams often reflects a more balanced state of mind.  Since your dreams are very feminine, the movement towards masculinity, aggressiveness, or outward flow of your own thoughts will create a balance that is needed.

A note will be said about the symbolism of a man transforming into a woman in dreams.  While there are several ways in which the subconscious mind, (where dreams come from), could express the message for a greater balance between aggressiveness and receptivity, and the subconscious mind and conscious mind, the transformation into a woman is both extreme and an unnatural occurrence.  If you take this into consideration with the fact that this dream is recurring, then there’s a very urgent need for balance in your life.

Ways that this might manifest in the daily life is spending too much time inactive, whether that’s spending hours in front of a computer at work, or watching the television for extended periods of time.  This might come up in situations where there’s a lot of mental commentary on people, life’s situations, or relationships with very little vocalization of your thoughts.  In either case, the universal is a mental state of passivity with very little conscious mind engaged.  When the conscious mind is engaged, there’s a heightened ability to operate throughout the many facets of life with greater reasoning.  Activities are chosen because they relate to who you want to become as an individual an dhow you imagine yourself changing and benefiting from your experiences.

Here’s a simple way of practicing this.  Write a list of ten things you desire to accomplish.  Read this out loud each morning, spending time to visualize accomplishing these goals.  Choose actions throughout the day to bring about accomplishing these goals.  At the end of the day, review your list again, taking note of your accomplishments.  This simple exercise will help you develop the aggressive/masculine element of your thinking and being.  Your conscious mind will be more engaged, and you will begin to experience life with more balance and fulfillment.

THE VOICE IN THE FOG

I had a nightmare. I dreamed that there was fog in my house and a creepy voice was calling my name. After that I got outside and i was at the seaside, and that voice wa still calling my name. After 10 minutes I was in my house again, not at the seaside and the voice stopped

female/FN, Romania

Response

This dream reflects your state of mind from the previous day.  Whenever you dream of houses, the type and condition of the house will represent the state or condition of your mind.  Whenever you dream of the bodies of water, like the seaside, then those will relate how you view your experiences in life, because water represents the conscious waking life experiences.  These experiences might be your job, attending classes, or activities with other people.

One of the keys to your dream is the fog in the house.  This shows that you’ve felt like “being in a fog,” so-to-speak, which also shows up in the dream as the creepy voice that you cannot identify.  Practicing and applying concentration to your life will help you clear your mind, which will help you identify your own thoughts and feelings easier.  These are important to know, because the kind of thoughts and feelings we carry with us will determine to a large degree how we live.  Practices like placing your full undivided attention on tasting your food while eating or focusing on taking long, deep breaths throughout the day are great ways to apply concentration and focus in the life.

POLAR BEAR

Took my 2 year olds to zoo with other family members.  Sister in law suggested going into a room where they could touch the animals.  I didn't realize they were wild animals like zebras and lions and that they were roaming freely.     Next thing I know I am holding my daughter and we are floating or swimming in water (ocean?) and a polar bear swims up to us and starts growling.  It then latches on to her left shoulder and drags her under.  I dive down and punch its face.  It rips her arm off and I bring her to the surface where I try to soothe her and call for help.

female/NY, United States

Response

This dream is about uncovering habitual ways of thinking.

The symbol of animals represents ways that we think the same thoughts with little awareness or conscious choice. People in dreams symbolize parts of our self. Because the people in your dream are familiar to you, you can discover what part of you they represent. If you think about how you would describe the different members of your family, then that will tell you what part of you they represent. Babies and small children are symbolic of new ideas. Water represents the way you experience your daily activity. There was an experience of being confronted with a dangerous habitual way of thinking (the bear). This could be like always imagining that the worst possible outcome will happen. This was in danger of changing (killing) your new idea (daughter). Your hand symbolizes your purpose, how you will benefit. Aggressively focusing on your purpose allowed you to prevent the habitual way of thinking from changing your idea. Keep focusing on your purpose. Learning to concentrate will help you to slow your thinking. This will give you the ability to change any habitual ways of thinking that may be holding you back. For example some people have a difficult time motivating themselves to complete tasks at work. By focusing on the personal benefit of completing the task, then it is easy to motivate the self.

TIGER MEN

I am in some sort of zoo or carnival type area.  There is a woman who is a tiger trainer but her tigers are men painted as tigers.  She uses a series of weird noises to communicate with them and I am watching, along with others, when one of the tiger man things runs at me slamming on the cage and lets out the most hair raising growling scream.  The woman who is supposed to be controlling the tigers tells me that I need to leave because I am upsetting him.  So I go running off and find a horse stall where is sit with the horse and I am all calm and everything is fine.

female/NC, United States

Response

This dream is about willpower and a need for disciplined thinking. The men are parts of your self that seem to be wild. The woman is a part of your self that is supposed to be controlling them. When one gets out of control the situation is avoided by running. Peace and calm are restored when the willpower (horse) is discovered.

A possible example of how this dream relates to waking life is this.  Someone has a new idea. They spend some time thinking about the idea and getting excited about it. Then, because they are undisciplined in their thinking, they begin to doubt that they can do it, or get really attached to the idea and become afraid that others will think it is dumb.  Because of fear and doubt they convince them self that it is a dumb idea and never act upon it. The need is to discipline the thinking so the imagination is used productively, imagining what we want to occur. Practicing concentration every day is a good way to begin disciplining the mind. Try holding your attention on the second hand of a clock for ten minutes each day.

MY BROTHER IS WEARING A BLACK LADY SUIT

First of all I will give you some background information: When I was 4 years old I had a brother namaed Adam that died at 8 years old from drowning in a river. Here is the dream:

I was on the porch at my parents house and I was talking to my brother Adam , who at that time would have been in his 20's , and in the dream looked as though he ws in his 20's. Anyway I reach in to give him a hug and when I let go he has turned into this this big black lady, but I feel comforted even though he has changed into this older black lady. I had told my mother about this dream and she told me that she had a dream where she was in this black ladies house and the lady saw my mother walking around. While discussing what the lady had looked like my mother and I figured out that the lady was the same lady from my dream.I think that this is very strange, how could two people have the same lady in there dream, and why would my brother Adam have turned into this lady?

female/NH, United States

Response

The nature of reality is connectedness and in the subconscious mind which is the division of mind where dreaming occurs we can more easily experience this connectedness.  People often experience dreams where loved ones visit them from beyond the physical world.  People often share dreams with others who are currently incarned in the physical.  Oftentimes, this serves as a stimulus to bring people together as it is a unique experience.

The sense of comfort you get after the hug indicates that your brothers energy was present in the dream.  Since your brother then transforms to the black lady, this indicates a need for you to identify more fully how to use the quality of comfort during your waking hours.

This dream has specific meaning for you.  Whatever your memory of your brother’s outstanding characteristic is will aid you in identifying this part of your Self that you are becoming familiar with.  It brings you comfort, though it is still about as familiar to you as is this older black lady.

MY SON NEEDS HELP

I keep having dreams about my youngest son. In the dreams he is seriously hurt.

The first one I had, he had walked into the street into the path of a large white carrier truck. Todays dream was that he had an ax and was trying to chop something and I hear him yell MOM! I go running to find out that he cut his left hand all the way past the wrist off with an ax. I am quickly running to him grab some kind of clothing and apply pressure to it and yell for someone to please put his hand on ice. There are three people standing about 10 ft away from him who I don't even know one is a young man holding a baby and the other two I can't seem to remember there gender. They do nothing but look at me.

Then I woke up.

female/IL, United States

Response

How old is your son?  If he is very young he symbolizes a developing idea.  If he is older he symbolizes a part of you that has matured.  In either case, this dream indicates a need to develop greater purpose.  In other words, remember what the intent for the idea.  If you started a business to express your artistic talent, but get caught up in paperwork, the idea of the creation can become burdensome.  Remember why you create and who you create for.

Since this is a repetitive theme, it is particularly important for you to identify the quality that your son represents and then to develop or reawaken your sense of purpose relative to this quality.  Once the change has been made within your consciousness, you will find the theme in your dreams reflecting the new lessons you are learning in life.

DIVING IN THE OCEAN, OHH NO!

Hi,

I'm a dream school scholar member and would like to have this dream interpreted. I woke up to 2 dreams today. I'm finding it hard to understand this dream.... I'm a 34 yr old women.

Part I

I was diving into ocean. At a particular place there were lots of small plants on the floor and I knew there are lots of mussel hiding between the leaves. So I avoided going there since I knew if they bite me I'll die in few minutes. The diving went smooth. I saw a fish with big mouth and I named it blow fish. It looked like it was smiling to me but I did not get closer to it. I came out of the ocean and I dont't remember what happened but this time I was with a team guided by a leader to dive in to the same place. She took us to where those plants were. I was wondering why she is taking there when she knew it is dangerous. But I followed her and suddenly a mussel came out of the plants and towards me and bite me. Immly everyone ended the diving and took me to top. I'll die in few minutes if I do not get the medicine immly. I was given a very little antidode and I came back to normal after being very close to death. Then I asked her why she took us to that place when she knew it is dangerous. I woke up.

(On july 2nd I watched an documentry on antarctica. I saw how people make a hole in the ice and dive in to ocean. it was very beautiful and there were lots of mussels on the ocean floor and they showed one mussels moving around. The under world was amazing in antarctica. I was in the same place in my dream)

 Part II

After I went back to sleep I had different dream like coming back home in train (I guess) from some place with my mom and friends. Lots of things happened like books, papers and I was puting a box away with all garbage papers and books in it. I don't remember much. Once I reached the destination, which was my school I was so happy and ran outside smiling and then I remembered I came to school in car. So, I went back running inside the campus. The gaurd was closing that big gate and I waved at him smiling and got in to the campus again and ran towards my car. It was an yellow sports car. I was trying to open the door with keys and felt the engine was in running mode and the car looked little dusty like it left it there for a while. I was confused and looked on the otherside. There was a lady trying to break open the door in to my car. I was on the driver side trying to get in. I called her first but she went on like she did not hear me. I said hello and waved and then she looked at me. Then I said my car has Lo Jack. She looked at me confused like she does not know what it is. Then I told her to wait and opened the door and reached for OnStar button and pressed it. The phone was rining and my morning alarm synched with it waking me up.

(When I woke up I felt like this dream was continuation of the previous one and I was returning in train from that diving trip. In real life I've red sports car with Lo Jack installed & OnStar in it)

 Thanks

Dreams reflect our waking state twenty four to forty eight hours before the dream occurs.  The first dream is showing the expansiveness of your mind and your life’s experiences as represented by the ocean.  These dreams are describing the content of your waking experience.  In this experience there is an identification of a habitual way of thinking in relationship to your waking state when you see the blowfish.

For instance, some people interact with others in a happy way that exchanges only pleasantries.  They say they are “doing well or good” even when they are not and aren’t afraid to smile even though their heart might not be in it.  If they practiced this repeatedly over time it would become a specific brain pathway called a habit.  These people then run on “autopilot” missing the beauty of honest expression with others.  The key with any habit is to identify what it is.  Once you are conscious of the habit and when it is used you then have the choice to use the habit when it will aid you to experience happiness, joy, and fulfillment this life.

The mussels are another habitual way of thinking that has the potential to cause undesired change in your mind.  As you explore your thoughts from the day before having the dream, you will be able to identify the habitual way of thinking and realize that you do not have to avoid it.  Avoiding the habit means the habit is still there.  Exploring your mind in relationship to daily experiences will illuminate what is present in your mind.

You can create whatever you want to in your life and you do not need to be limited by habitual ways of thinking.  The use of imagination is the key to override any unwanted thought patterns.  Create a daily affirmation that will replace the habitual one.  It could be as simple as, “I live my dreams”, “and I am courageous and understanding.”  Find an affirmation that you believe in and want to become.  Then practice each day until you become what you affirm.

The first dream reflects the influence media has on our lives and dreaming.  The second dream indicates another way in which you are learning, exemplified by the university setting.  The car symbolizes your physical body and there is a sense that you need to protect your body from the unknown conscious aspect who is attempting to enter your car.  You can study this part of yourself by exploring those times when you are working by yourself and have thoughts that are uncooperative with the direction and intention of your objectives.
